How to Keep Cool During Summer Family Photos

Pool

Ok, so you may be thinking, “Natasha, we don’t have a pool!” While not everyone has a pool in their backyard, there are still ways to take advantage of one for your summer family photos!

One of the best places to start is within your community. Most cities/counties have a public pool you can visit for a fee. Or maybe you know friends or family members that own a pool or have access to one.

If all else fails, you can find inexpensive kiddie pools online or at your local store. Most kids love water and will be thrilled with whatever option you choose.

Water Park

What could be better than a trip to a water park on a hot summer day? This option is great for families with older children. Whether you spend the whole day or just a couple of hours in the afternoon, a water park is sure to provide fun for the whole family!

Water Balloons & Squirt Guns

Speaking of family activities, why not have a water balloon/squirt gun fight in your own backyard? Separate the family into two groups and get a little family competition going. The winning team gets to pick dessert!!

Local Splash Pad

Another local option would be to find a local splash pad. Many parks or downtowns have one in their children’s play area. Just be sure to call ahead to ensure the splash pad is open and there are no changes regarding accessibility.

Indoor

If all else fails, we can move your family photo session indoors. Indoor family portraits are relaxed and just as fun as outdoor photos. Play games together, or enjoy a bowl of ice cream around the kitchen table.

Summer family photos are a great way to get the family together and enjoy some outdoor activities. Ready to book your session? Head over to my contact page and let’s get started!
